MEET THE TEAM
Jordan Strebeck
Jordan Strebeck is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Fortress Energy. Since its inception in 2017, Fortress has successfully acquired over $500mm of core Permian Basin assets. Prior to co-founding Fortress, he was the Vice President of Finance & Business Development at Piedra Resources and Rock River Minerals, both of which were longtime partners of EnCap Investments focused on the Permian Basin.
He is a graduate of Harvard Business School, where he was elected Co-President of the Student Body, as well as President of his Section. He attended HBS on a Frist Fellowship and graduated with Second Year Academic Honors. Prior to Harvard, he served as Special Assistant to Chancellor Kent R. Hance of the Texas Tech University System.
Before returning to serve his alma mater, Strebeck began his career in financial planning as the Director of Business Development for the nationally recognized wealth management firm Evensky & Katz. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech in Agricultural & Applied Economics with a minor in Personal Financial Planning, summa cum laude.
He has been happily married to his best friend, Brittany, also a graduate of Texas Tech, since 2007. The Strebecks are the proud parents of three boys and one girl, and are founding members of Redeemer Church, Midland. Strebeck has previously served on the Board of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association and as the Chairman of Congressman August Pfluger’s Permian Basin Industry Council.
Daniel Charbonnet
Daniel is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Fortress Energy. Before launching Fortress, he spent nearly seven years at CrownQuest Operating and CrownRock Minerals. During his tenure there, Charbonnet worked with hundreds of mineral and surface owners, and helped CrownQuest/CrownRock grow one of the largest core acreage positions in the entire Midland Basin and re-build their acreage portfolio after over $1 billion in divestitures.
Mr. Charbonnet began his collegiate career at Duke University, where he started for the Blue Devils football team as a true freshman before transferring to Texas Tech, where he ultimately earned his degree. While at Texas Tech, Charbonnet was a multi-year starter and a recipient of All-Big 12 honors his senior year. He and his wife, Lisa, have four children and are active in their schools, their church and the local community. Daniel sits on the regional board for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as the Advisory Board for the Texas Tech FCA chapter, and remains involved with Texas Tech’s football program.
Quillan Harris
Quillan is a 3rd generation oil and gas professional. Born in Denver, he moved to Midland with his family in the early 1990s.
Quillan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master’s in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston, and an MS in Finance from Georgetown University.
Before joining Fortress, he was a Vice President at a middle market PE firm, and prior to that led the technical group for OGX Operating and Santa Elena Minerals; EnCap sponsored entities with $1.5 Bn in cumulative equity commitments.
Quillan has had roles of increasing responsibility in production and completions engineering in the Permian and Rockies, and reservoir engineering for offshore Angola and the Kurdish region of Iraq, including an in-country reservoir engineering supervisory role for Marathon’s first discovery in Kurdistan.
Quillan and his wife, Beth, have three children and are active members of their church and community.
A.J. Brown
AJ is a member of the Finance and Business Development team at Fortress Energy. AJ assists the managing partners with investor relations, fundraising, and financial and land-based evaluations for potential investments. Before joining the Fortress team, AJ was an Associate Broker at Moriah Real Estate Company. During his tenure at Moriah, AJ sourced and facilitated over $20 million in transactions during a 2-year period including deals with key companies Pioneer, Warren Cat, Hendrick Health Services, and Abilene Christian University.
AJ is a graduate of Abilene Christian University where he earned a degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. While a student at ACU, AJ was a member of the Track and Field team where he competed as a Decathlete. AJ and his wife Allison currently reside in Midland where they enjoy serving as Young Life leaders and are active members of Redeemer Church.
Jonathan Charbonnet
Jonathan Charbonnet joined Fortress in 2017 as a Landman and has played an integral role in the team’s acquisitions over its first three funds. Prior to joining the team at Fortress, Jonathan worked as a Landman at BC Operating, where he was responsible for helping oversee all its Texas operations and their acquisitions, divestitures and trades within the state. He has also worked as an Independent Landman, with time spent working as a Broker and as a consulting landman for several clients.
Throughout his career Jonathan has worked closely with countless mineral, royalty, and surface owners to help them maximize the value of their property. He has also overseen leasing, buying, trading and drilling programs, and helped to build acreage positions that resulted in over $1.5B in divestitures.
Jonathan earned his BA in History and English, Minor in Political Science at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where he met his wife. The Charbonnets and their two children currently reside in Midland, where they are active in their church and community.
Courtney Ryburn
Courtney Ryburn is the Vice President of Business Operations at Fortress Energy, where she has been a key member of the team since joining as the company’s fifth employee in 2017. Over the course of multiple funds, she has helped guide Fortress’ growth by overseeing internal operations, leading the accounting team, and managing fund administration, financial reporting, and investor relations.
Before joining Fortress, Courtney spent nearly a decade as a small business owner, gaining firsthand experience in entrepreneurship, organizational management, and client engagement.
A Midland native, Courtney graduated from Texas Tech University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Outside of work, she enjoys being active, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Blake Rasmussen
Blake Rasmussen began his career at Fortress Energy as its first Summer Associate and has steadily grown into key leadership positions in Fortress’ Land and Business Development departments. Over the course of the company’s multiple funds, Blake has been critical to Fortress’ success across asset acquisitions, divestitures, and management.
A third generation Midland native, Blake’s lifelong connections in the Permian Basin have helped create unique value for both Fortress and the surface, mineral, and royalty owners he has worked with over the years. His deep roots in West Texas and his strong relationships with industry and community leaders have also led to unique partnerships and opportunities that would have otherwise been difficult to access.
A graduate of Midland High School, Blake earned his B.A. in Business Entrepreneurship from the University of Oklahoma, where he also met his wife. Rasmussen remains actively involved in the Midland community and is passionate about serving his church, coaching youth golf, and supporting the Midland College Foundation.

Paul Venincasa
Paul Venincasa began his oil and gas career in 2018 with Norwood Land Services in Fort Worth, where he contributed to due diligence projects in the DJ Basin. He later joined Stronghold Resource Partners in Dallas, serving as a Senior Landman with a focus on mineral and royalty acquisitions in the Midland Basin and Haynesville Shale.
In January 2024, Paul made the move to Midland to join Fortress Energy as an Acquisitions Landman. In this role, he is responsible for executing mineral, royalty and leasehold transactions across the Permian Basin, supporting the strategic deployment of capital and long-term value creation.
A proud Texas Tech Red Raider originally from Dallas, Paul now calls West Texas home. He is actively involved in the Permian Basin Landman Association and remains engaged in his community as a member of Redeemer Church.
Crystal Harper
Crystal oversees mineral and lease assets across all Fortress Energy partnerships, working closely with finance to manage revenue streams. With over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry, she brings deep expertise in asset management, accounting, and software integration.
Her career began at Concho Resources before joining Piedra Operating LLC, where she rose to Asset Manager and led the development of their proprietary mineral management system, significantly contributing to the company’s $4.5 billion sale.
She earned her degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin on a full-ride scholarship after attending Angelo State University. Crystal lives in Midland, Texas with her husband, Travis, and their three daughters. They’re members of Midland Bible Church and love being part of the community.

Alayna Speight
Alayna Speight is the Executive Assistant at Fortress Energy, where she supports leadership and daily operations with a focus on organization and efficiency. She began her career in nursing before moving into the oil and gas industry in 2019.
Alayna and her husband are Midland natives with a son and daughter, and they are active members of Redeemer Church.
Avery Gibbs
Avery joined the Fortress Energy team in May of 2025. Before transitioning into the energy industry, she spent six years as an elementary school educator and behavioral therapist.
She is a graduate of the University of Houston, where she earned her degree in Psychology and Communication Disorders. Born and raised in Midland, Texas, Avery now resides here with her husband and two boys.
Maggie Squire
Maggie joined the Fortress team in June 2025, shortly after graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Texas A&M. Born and raised in Midland, she’s returned to her roots and is now diving into the oil and gas industry.
She stays actively involved in the community as a member of the PBLA and regularly attends YPE gatherings. She’s engaged in her church and enjoys spending time with friends and family at town social events.
